I went to Zermatt to personally experience promising new talents and well-known DJs to perform in an incomparable setting. Zermatt Unplugged became an important acoustic festival for the European music industry.
Founded in 2007, this music festival produces over 100 concerts on 17 different stages during the 5-day course throughout the mountain. When I first thought of it, I was thrilled not just with the line-ups but with how picturesque it would look in combination with the beautiful spring snow and the warm hospitality of Zermatt.
After long deliberation of the post-pandemic era this year, I realized how life got caught for two years and decided to enjoy a festival to the fullest. From April 5 to 9, 2022, I wrestled my way to Zermatt, not to explore the Alps but to explore my inner musical being.
As we gathered at the foot of the Matterhorn to celebrate the return of Zermatt Unplugged, I got to experience 18-stage hostings and over 140 shows this year. From Ellie Goulding to English folk singer James Bay, the festival undoubtedly produced big names that I certainly enjoyed.
Jake Isaac, Ronny Scotts, All-Stars, Snow Patrol, Marius Bear Thom Yorke, and Sam Ryder were among the famous acts performed.
Here are some of my exciting highlights from this experience!
Notes from Matterhorn Chalets
“A Zermatt Unplugged pass is just CHF60 per person. This pass gives you access to the festival site and entrance to stages across the mountain and town and all the after-parties.
The pass does not include entrance to the big-name acts and concerts mentioned above. These tickets are all sold separately, and you can buy just the concert ticket or a variety of VIP packages.”
There are several offers you can choose from. Which experience would you want to explore?
